SOCAR AQS opens Drilling Training Center in Baku with unique dynamic simulators

Baku Drilling School (BDS), the most advanced Drilling Training Center in the Caspian Basin was opened in Baku on 20 December 2019.

 

Prominent representatives of the local and international oil and gas companies such as SOCAR, BP, Total, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Weatherford, Gulf Drilling, Turan Engineering and Drilling LLC and so on attended the opening ceremony.

 

Baku Drilling School will support the training of drilling professionals for the region by international experts and using the most innovative drilling rig simulators.  

 

BDS, offering more than 40 training programs in various fields of the oil and gas industry, is the first training center accredited by International Well Control Forum (IWCF), the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization (OPITO) in the region.

 

Endeavor XI Platinum, the most advanced multi-functional simulator of the world has been installed in the training center. Endeavor XI Platinum will give specialists a unique opportunity to forecast any complication and risks which can occur during drilling by programing geophysical and geological peculiarities of the layer. Training participants will be able to use wide opportunities of the simulator and visualize and control any drilling rigs and wells using the 3D of the GeoCube model. The experience will help young professionals successfully cope with tasks in real-life drilling, both professionally and psychologically.

Baku Drilling School LLC signed a Memorandum of Understanding for potential cooperation in training programs with Baku Higher Oil School, Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, Azerbaijan-French University and Azerbaijan Technical University at the event.
