SOCAR AQS has conducted another DWOP session

Baku, Azerbaijan, 29 January 2019 – SOCAR AQS hosted its next DWOP (Drilling Well On Paper) session at Fairmont Hotel aimed to plan the works for constructing the Well 38 on Platform 7 of Gunashli field.

 

Management and technical staff of SOCAR AQS and of the client – AzNeft Production Union, as well as representatives of other SOCAR units and subcontractor companies attended the session. The event started with a short video about the major successes of the platform’s team. Following the video, Deputy General Director of SOCAR AQS, Chief Geologist Iftikhar Gasimov delivered an opening speech highlighting the importance of DWOP sessions for managing the potential risks in the well drilling process and for systematically learning the lessons out of previous drilling projects.

 

Mehdi Valiyev, Deputy General Director for Well Maintenance at Azneft Production Union, expressed his gratitude to SOCAR AQS management for organizing the event and his confidence in the event being instrumental for reaching the targets on drilling and construction of the Well 38.

 

Afterwards, Graam Clark, Drilling Manager at SOCAR AQS, delivered a presentation on expectations from the DWOP session. SOCAR AQS representatives Sevinj Gasimova and Farkhan Jabbarov briefed the participants on geological design and drilling plan for Well # 38.

 

The subcontractor companies presented their work plans and forecasts on providing the services to the drilling and construction of the Well # 38.

 

The event continued in the format of group discussions aimed at identifying risks and potential solutions for the cases of realization of the risks at each section of the well. In the end of the session, the most active participants of the group discussions were awarded prizes by the event organizers.

 

In order to take the most out of the DWOP event, SOCAR AQS plans to include the most important outcomes from the session into the plans of the current and future drilling and well construction projects.
